Meeker Lake offers over 8 miles of trails to equestrians, cyclists and hikers. The Equestrian riders may ride on even days and cyclists on odd days. The Equestrian park is located in the southwest corner of the park. There are 3 trail heads, A B, and C. These trails all connect to form a loop around the lake and are marked with ORANGE ribbon. Off trails are Marked with BLUE ribbons, short cuts are marked with PINK ribbons, and SEASONAL trails are marked with RED ribbon. Trails are barefoot friendly, although there are several areas that have rock. There is a nice mixture of hills and flat areas throughout the trail, as well as wooded and open spaces, offering the best of both, shade and sunshine. There are picnic tables along the trail on the North side of the lake that make for a nice resting place or a snack break.
The Equestrian Park offers ample parking, high line poles, picnic tables, and most have permanent grills. Day rider fees for the trails are $5.00 each person. (65 + ride free) Annual permits may be purchased at Meeker City Hall. The honor box is located at the entrance of the park. Primitive camping is allowed and a permit can be purchased at Meeker City Hall. Currently there are no horse pens, campers can set up hot pens or use the high line poles. No water is available at the park so bring your own for your equines and yourself.
There isn’t a map but we are working on one. If you google meeker lake it will pull up a map of the main trail and you can track your ride on either Gaia or all trails.
